How can Arsenal get back to winning ways?

It has not been a good few weeks for the North Londoners. Arsenal promised their fans that things are going to change now, as they sacked their longest-serving manager Arsene Wenger.

He is one of the greatest managers in the world and is certainly Arsenal's greatest ever manager, but his past decade with Arsenal hasn't been of the top level. It is now nearly 12 years since Arsenal last won a Premier League title, and this is a serious issue which had to be taken into consideration.

Being a Gunner, it was not easy to cope up with the trolls and while taking my daily dose of caffeine in the morning, I realized the need to address the problems at Arsenal and find rational solutions to it. I am certainly nowhere close to Unai Emery's level of wisdom but as a fan and a writer, I have the license to acknowledge the issues and talk about it to a greater audience.

So, despite starting off the season in such an impressive way, why did Arsenal get back to being the "6th FC"? We were on a 22 games unbeaten streak, but currently, they are struggling to win games and it is not completely on Unai Emery, is it?

Rob and Hector were both key players under Unai Emery, but they are sidelined for the rest of the season.

The major issue currently is injuries; injuries to key players, followed by a lack of depth in order to fill the voids left by the players who are sidelined. And lastly, inconsistency in the defenders. Now, it's down to Unai Emery. He has to work with what he has at his disposal and the Gooners desperately want a Champions League spot next year - either by winning the Europa League or finishing in the top four.

Arsenal is playing Huddersfield away from home next weekend. A must-win game and a chance to improve their goal difference. It's time Unai Emery starts benching Mustafi for Dinos Mavropanos. Dinos did not get many chances under Arsene, but he made sure the fans knew who he was and he left an incredible impression after every game. He is already a fan-favourite in London and the fans are keen to see him start for the Gunners.

A part of Arsenal fans were happy to see Mustafi going off the pitch, cause he has been that bad for Arsenal.

Manchester City scored all the 3 goals against Arsenal through their left flank, where Lichsteiner and Mustafi were deployed. Pep and co targeted them and they choked, as expected. Lichsteiner should not be allowed to stay at Arsenal for more seasons and it's time to bid goodbye to Mustafi.

Secondly, the two-man striking combination is certainly paying off against smaller teams, but Arsenal is terrible with them against top sides. A 4-4-2 formation with Auba and Laca as strikers provide zero creativity and as we saw against City, Arsenal had zero shots on target in the second half at Etihad.

As Mkhitaryan is back and Denis Suarez also an option, Unai Emery should switch back to a 4-3-3, using Lacazette or Aubameyang as a substitute. They both are the best when they have a central position to stick to, the perfect number nine role.

Arsenal have much better chance to finish in the top 4 if compared to Chelsea and United, but only if they capitalise on their opportunities.

Lastly, it's down to Arsenal's consistency. The likes of Mustafi, Kolasinac, Iwobi and Granit Xhaka are the least consistent out of the lot, and ironically, they play the most important roles on the pitch. Unai Emery's man management will be the reason for either Arsenal's success or loss in the coming games, and it is time they get their things together.

There are only 13 games left in the Premier League and Arsenal are still 3 points behind 4th placed Chelsea. They have to at least win 11 out of the 13 to confirm a 4th place finish by the end of the season.
