Ndombele on why he joined Spurs

Tanguy Ndombele became Tottenham’s most expensive signing earlier this month as his move from Lyon was finalized. After completing his signing, Ndombele stated that he made a good choice joining the Lilywhites.

He also added that Spurs being in the top four alongside having a great coach like Mauricio Pochettino. He also stated that being at London is a good choice as it would allow him to be out of his comfort zone.

“I think it’s a great choice. What guided me was the Premier League, the top four in England, a very good coach who’ll help me reach another level. I’m at a crossroads.
“You weigh up the pros and cons and you choose. As a man it’s good to move to London. It will allow me to discover a new country, a new football culture. I’m leaving my cocoon.

Ndombele also seemed convinced about Spurs’ project, stating that the club spending €70 million on him is a testament to the statement being made by them.

“[Spurs] have a quite young team, with very good players. You can’t not look at the project of a Champions League finalist. Investing €70m [in me] is a strong statement. When I see Spurs I see a big European club, another dimension. It’s the best choice to reach the next level.”

PSG enter race for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Manchester United have been linked with a move for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic as a Paul Pogba replacement. However, PSG have also entered the race for him. According to Le10Sport, Pogba wants to join Real Madrid and should that happen, United would make a move for the Serbian.

However, they will now face competition from the French giants for the €80 million superstar.

Everton are reportedly trying to steal Malcom from under the nose of Arsenal as according to a tweet from Mohamed Bouhafsi, Everton are set to make a bid worth €35 million for the talented Brazilian.

He also stated that the Gunners have the Barcelona man on their radar and that while the Londoners have spoken to the player’s representatives, they are yet to speak to the Catalans.

Meanwhile, according to reports from Portugal, Sporting are set to make a new offer to Manchester United target Bruno Fernandes that would see him become the highest earner at the club should he sign it.

The Portuguese star currently earns around £44,000-a-week and could see his wages reach to £67,000 should he reject the chance to join the Old Trafford outfit and sign an extension with the Portuguese outfit.

Former Tottenham star Darren Bent has urged the Lilywhites to sign Kalvin Philips from Leeds United. Spurs have already signed Jack Clarke from Elland Road and Bent now hopes that they do the same with Philips.

Bent thinks that Philips has the ability to play in the Premier League and could be a star at Tottenham in the holding midfield role as the Lilywhites desperately need the player in that position.

“I’d like to see Kalvin Phillips move on, he’s earned that Premier League status,” Bent told Football Insider.
“He can go to Spurs, quite easily. That holding role, getting about the pitch and making tackles and that, I can see him at Tottenham easily.
“They’re crying out for that player so I can see him going there and he might not start straight away, might have to bide his time, but I can guarantee you once he gets in there he won’t come out.”

Tottenham have already shaken the window with the signing Tanguy Ndombele but it seems like they are far from over in their pursuit of strengthening the team. According to a report from the Telegraph, the Lilywhites are set to tie down Ben Davies to a new deal.

According to the report, Spurs are in advance talks with the player regarding a new long-term deal. The player has only two years left in his current deal and is on the verge of signing a deal worth 5 long years.

Meanwhile, while Arsenal have been quieter than their bitter rivals, they might just go on to sign one of the best young defenders in the world in the form of William Saliba.

According to a report from Sky Sports, the Gunners are in talks to sign the youngster in a deal which would see him go straight back to the French club in a yearlong loan deal.

Tottenham didn’t sign a single player during the 2018-19 season. They went on a barren run for two windows and now, it seems like they want to make up for the lost opportunities.

They have already signed Jack Clarke from Leeds before completing a blockbuster move for Tanguy Ndombele from Lyon. And now, if a report from AS is to be believed, then the Lilywhites are in the race to sign Mariano Diaz from Real Madrid.

Mariano took the Ligue 1 to storm in his only season in 2017-18. After that, Real Madrid bought him back but he wasn’t able to replicate that form in the white shirt.

As a result, there are talks of him being sold and according to AS, Madrid have received a good offer for him from Spurs, where he would be the understudy to Harry Kane.
