Sead Kolasinac 'determined to fight for Arsenal spot'

Arsenal full-back Sead Kolasinac reportedly holds positive talks with manager Mikel Arteta and is now determined to stay and fight for his place at the club.

Arsenal full-back Sead Kolasinac has reportedly held positive talks with Mikel Arteta over his future and is now determined to stay and fight for his place at the club.

Kolasinac has fallen down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium since lockdown, with Kieran Tierney preferred on the left of the back three and the likes of Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Bukayo Saka favoured at wing-back.

The 27-year-old's limited first-team football had seen him linked with a move away this summer, with West Ham United and former side Schalke 04 among the clubs thought to be interested in his signature.

However, The Guardian reports that Kolasinac is ready to battle for his place in the side after holding talks with Arteta.

The Spanish manager reportedly told Kolasinac that he is currently behind Tierney in his plans, putting the onus on the Bosnian to win back his place in the team.

Kolasinac has made just over 100 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions, including 32 last season.
