Bologna centre-back Takehiro Tomiyasu is not currently a transfer target for Arsenal despite recent reports, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Arsenal are reportedly not currently in the race to sign Bologna centre-back Takehiro Tomiyasu.

The 22-year-old is expected to leave his Italian club during this summer's transfer window, and Tottenham Hotspur are said to lead the race for the Japan international.

There had been suggestions that Arsenal were also in the running for the defender, who still has three years left to run on his contract with Bologna.

However, according to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, the Gunners, as it stands, are not competing for Tomiyasu's signature.

Romano claims that the former Avispa Fukuoka youngster wants to move to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, but Atalanta BC are also showing an interest.

Tomiyasu has made 63 appearances for Bologna since arriving from Sint-Truiden in 2019, including 33 outings in all competitions during the 2020-21 campaign.
