Chelsea and Arsenal handed transfer boost after news of release clause for Roma defender Kostas Manolas

Chelsea and Arsenal target Kostas Manolas has reportedly agreed a lucrative new contract at Roma which includes a £32.75m release clause. Both London clubs have been linked with the Greece international, who is considered one of the best central defenders in Serie A. Italian champions Juventus are also said to be keeping tabs on his situation in Roma while Manolas snubbed a big-money move to Zenit St Petersburg during the summer. And now, according to Italian outlet Pagine Romaniste, the 26-year-old has been rewarded for his loyalty with a substantial pay rise, which will send his annual salary from £2.5m to around 3.1m.
