Everton to rescue departed Arsenal hero
Everton are considering a shock move to offer Thomas Vermanelen a route back to England after a disappointing season with Barcelona, according to reports from TuttoMercatoWeb. The Belgian was sold by Arsenal last summer after sliding down the Gunners’ pecking order, despite being club captain. Barca swooped to land him, but Vermaelen has made no impact in Catalonia, with injury having prevented him from making a single first-team appearance.
