Liverpool scout: How club tried to sign Terry, Pique, Cech

Liverpool tried to sign Gerard Pique, John Terry, Diego Forlan, Petr Cech and many more players at the turn of the millennium. The Reds were beaten to Pique by Manchester United, while Terry 'used' the club 'to get more money out of Chelsea', according to former scout Alex Miller. Miller worked for Liverpool for nine years from 1999 to 2008, first as a scout and then as first-team coach. He has opened up on the talents the Reds missed out on under Gerard Houllier.
