Internationals: Sari and Dominique win Algarve Cup

Sari van Veenendaal and Dominique Janssen’s Netherlands were crowned joint-champions of the Algarve Cup on Wednesday evening. The duo were set to line up against Sweden in the competition’s final, but the match was called off due to heavy rainfall and, as a result, both teams were awarded first place.   It means that the Netherlands finish the tournament unbeaten, after winning their opening two games against Japan and Denmark before drawing with Iceland.   Lisa Evans was also in action, playing 66 minutes of Scotland’s win over New Zealand on Tuesday morning.   Jane Ross gave them the lead before Fiona Brown doubled their advantage in the second half, as Scotland beat New Zealand...
