Aubameyang had fired the Gunners into a two-goal lead and was expected to step up when Lacazette was felled inside the box at the death. But the France international - making his first appearance after spending six weeks on the sidelines with a knee injury - dusted himself down to fire past Stoke keeper Jack Butland. Aubameyang said: “I know Alexandre Lacazette is back and I had scored twice already so I knew it would be good for his confidence.” Arsene Wenger praised Aubameyang for his “generous” gesture.
