Let’s face it, this has been a pretty tough season for Arsenal fans. After finishing outside the Champions League places in May, the signing of Alexandre Lacazette last summer offered some hope of improvement, but it proved a false dawn. A scrappy opening-day victory over Leicester provided a few scares, and successive defeats to Stoke and Liverpool immediately put the Gunners six points behind in the Premier League title race.
