Granit Xhaka suffers knee injury in Switzerland training, World Cup in doubt - reports

Granit Xhaka was rushed to hospital on Thursday evening after suffering a knee injury in Switzerland training, putting his place at the World Cup in doubt. Reports from Swiss outlet RTS state the Arsenal midfielder stayed down holding his left knee after being involved in a rough challenge. He could not resume training and limped out of the session, having to be aided with his walking by two members of staff. While no medical reports have yet come back regarding the injury, Xhaka is now a doubt for his country's World Cup campaign, which begins on June 17 against Brazil. La Nati will first play two warm up games, against Spain on June 3 and Japan on June 8.
