June 30, is the stated ‘contract end’ date each year, which marks the end of many players’ contracts and is therefore a very important day in the football calendar. It is the day when we officially bid farewell to the players whose contracts with us expire. Consequently, July 1 is a day when we welcome new young players to the club, and is also a day when young players are signing their first professional contracts with us; and other young players are extending their existing contracts.
