Fred: 'Gilberto Silva played big part in Manchester United move'

Fred has revealed that former Arsenal midfielder Gilberto Silva played a big part in his switch from Shakhtar Donetsk to Manchester United during the summer transfer window. The Brazil international reportedly had a number of clubs to choose from before settling for the Red Devils, who were willing to hand over £52m for his services. Acting as his fellow Brazilian's representative, Gilberto - a member of Arsenal's Invincibles squad in 2003-04 - persuaded Fred to join Premier League giants United.
