Danny Welbeck’s brace against Brentford in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night took his goal tally to four for the season so far, making him Arsenal’s joint top-goalscorer with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. The England international’s current contract with the Gunners expires at the end of this season, but if he can maintain his fitness and his current form then Unai Emery will be loathe to let the 27-year-old leave, especially as a free agent.
