Premier League ready to see 2019/20 season reach August 22 instead of July goal

Premier League players were told last week of the new season conclusion date being potentially as late as August 22. Following a series of Zoom calls, top-flight stars in English football are now convinced the 2019/20 campaign will be completed. Project Restart is being mapped out and discussed by clubs as well as Premier League chiefs. And the initial hope was to see the season finished by the end of July following the disruptions caused by coronavirus. However, that now looks unrealistic, and the Daily Mail say Premier League officials have now discussed putting back the date to Saturday, August 22.
