Arsenal managed to bring their losing run since the season’s restart to an end as they beat Southampton 2-0 at St Mary’s. Alex McCarthy gifted the Gunners all three points with a first-half howler as Eddie Nketiah caught him out. The young forward closed the Saints keeper down quickly as his pass out was intercepted before Nketiah tapped home in front of an empty net. Joe Willock then reacted quickest from a McCarthy fumble late on to double the lead and grab his first Premier League goal, with Jack Stephens having been sent off for a foul last man on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang just before.
