Premier League 2020/21 season to begin in September as clubs agree scheduling
The 2020/21 Premier League season will not get underway until September 12 with the delayed date due to the knock-on effects of the coronavirus crisis. Top-flight clubs agreed on the scheduling in a shareholders meeting today, with the Saturday date in September just seven weeks away. It gives teams very little time to rest and prepare for the new campaign following the delayed conclusion of the 2019/20 campaign. But the Premier League is rushing to get the new season started as early as possible in order to not effect the football calendar too dramatically.
