WHAT HAPPENED We kicked off the new Women’s League season in style on Sunday with a thrilling 6-1 win over Reading. Jill Roord scored a hat-trick, and Kim Little and Vivianne Miedema (2) were also on the scoresheet, but we were also treated to four WSL debuts from Steph Catley, Noelle Maritz, Malin Gut and Caitlin Foord. Eager to bounce back from defeat in the Women’s Champions League, we wasted no time in asserting our dominance and opened the scoring in some style.
