Runar Alex Runarsson ‘has Arsenal medical’ and will sign five-year contract

Arsenal are set to replace Emiliano Martinez with Dijon goalkeeper Runar Alex Runarsson. Aston Villa are on the verge of signing the Gunners’ Argentine star, 28, for a deal worth £20m. Mikel Arteta subsequently needs to bring in support for No.1 Bernd Leno, and attention has turned to Runarsson. The Gunners appear to be moving quickly to snap up the 25-year-old Iceland international. The Ligue 1 ace could be an Arsenal player soon, having reportedly already undergone a medical ahead of a transfer.
