Sunderland make £2m Jenkinson loan bid
Jenkinson spent last season on loan at West Ham, who would like to keep the right-back at Upton Park, but Sunderland have made their offer early and are willing to pay the 23-year-old's wages in full, according to the Daily Telegraph. Arsenal are said to be unwilling to sell a player they regard as having a first-team future at Emirates Stadium, but Sunderland's move is likely to spark West Ham - and possibly other Premier League clubs - into making approaches of their own. Sunderland, meanwhile, could offload Santiago Vergini to Newell's Old Boys, according to the Sunderland Echo.
