Morning all. When the invincible squad broke up, Arsenal were clearly going to need a transition period. Partly because it seemed that 2003/04 broke up quickly but also because Arsene Wenger moved away from the strong athletic players to the smaller, perhaps more technical players like Fabregas, Nasri, Hleb, Flamini etc. Certainly in midfield. Patience was needed back then as the stadium move left the club short financially too but in football, patience wears thin after a while. Not because the club didn’t make big signings but because the football wasn’t really that good. Not consistently anyway.
