Brexit transfer rules: What new rules mean for Premier League clubs in January window

Foreign players under the age of 18 can no longer be signed by Premier League clubs as part of the post-Brexit transfer rules, which were confirmed on Tuesday. From January onwards, top-flight teams will also be restricted to only three overseas signings under the age of 21 and just six foreign players per season thereafter. The rules could see Premier League clubs look closer at the academies of teams further down the football league.
