Arsenal also struck by Covid-19 blow as club provide update on four players

Arsenal defender Gabriel has tested positive for Covid-19 and will miss their next two matches, the club have confirmed. The Brazilian has already sat out their Boxing Day win over Chelsea and was a doubt to feature in upcoming meetings with Brighton on December 29 and West Brom on January 2 after coming into close contact with someone who tested positive for coronavirus. However, the Gunners have now confirmed that Gabriel has contracted the virus himself and will now definitely miss their next two games. “We will continue to monitor and support Gabriel, and we are hoping he will be available again after our next two matches,” a club update reads.
