Arteta owns up to "mistake" after secret Arsenal injury blow

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has admitted his mistake at not clarifying the status of Reiss Nelson. The winger has impressed in the Gunners’ Europa League campaign, scoring a goal and providing an assist. But despite those performances, and some energetic cameos in the Premier League, Nelson has not been named in a senior squad since 3 December. That prompted rumours that his absence meant that Nelson would be heading for an exit in the January transfer window, with Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Willian ahead of him in Arteta’s pecking order.
