Arsenal were 'not part' of European Super League plans at beginning of proposals

Arsenal have been named as one of the 12 founding members of the new European Super League, alongside Manchester United, Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham Hotspur, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus. In a joint statement, they announced: 'Twelve of Europe’s leading football clubs have today come together to announce they have agreed to establish a new mid-week competition, the Super League, governed by its Founding Clubs.
