Arsenal's Europa League final capitulation comes back to haunt Emery

Villarreal’s penalty shootout defeat of Manchester United meant that Unai Emery has now won his fourth Europa League, more than any other manager. The Spaniard has become a master of the competition, guiding both Sevilla and Villarreal to the title, as well as leading Arsenal to the final. Emery won his first Europa League trophy in 2014, when he took Sevilla to the final in his first season at the club. They faced Portuguese side Benfica, with Emery’s men winning 4-2 on penalties after the match was goalless through all 120 minutes of action.
