Liverpool, Arsenal 'to battle for Lille's Renato Sanches'

Liverpool and Arsenal are reportedly ready to go head-to-head for the signature of Lille midfielder Renato Sanches. The Portugal international played a prominent role in Les Dogues' run to the Ligue 1 title last year, scoring one goal and assisting three more in 23 Ligue 1 appearances, although he only started 14 of them. With Liverpool looking to fill the void left by Georginio Wijnaldum's departure and Arsenal expected to wave goodbye to Granit Xhaka, both sides are thought to be in the market for additions to their respective engine rooms.
