Arsenal's new signing Nuno Tavares scores on debut in 2-2 draw with Rangers
Nuno Tavares got his Arsenal career up and running by finding the back of the net on his debut against Rangers. The Gunners played their second pre-season friendly of the summer in Scotland on Saturday, with Steven Gerrard's champions holding them to a 2-2 draw after their 2-1 defeat away at Hibernian last Tuesday. Leon Balogun opened the scoring for Gers, before Tavares marked his Arsenal debut in style by netting the equaliser at Ibrox. The 21-year-old left-back, who completed a £7million move from Benfica last week, first dispossessed James Tavernier on the edge of the box and raced through on goal.
