Arsenal fans already have a split opinion over Martin Odegaard after a tricky start to the season for the midfielder. Mikel Arteta was desperate to make sure the Norway international was made a permanent member of the squad after initially signing him on loan in January. Real Madrid played hardball but in the end agreed to let the playmaker leave in order to fulfil their own transfer plans of trying to prise Kylian Mbappe away from Paris Saint-Germain. Ultimately, the Gunners got a good deal after signing Odegaard for around £30m - especially when he impressed Arteta so much during his brief spell last season.
