Wenger hints at first team role for hat-trick youngster
Arsene Wenger has hinted that he sees Chuba Akpom as a first team striking option by saying he won't be sending the youngster out on loan this season. The 19 year old bagged a hat-trick against the Singapore Select XI as Arsenal ran out 4-0 winners, but with Olivier Giroud, Danny Welbeck, Theo Walcott and Alexis in his way for a place in the side, it was expected that he'd spend some time this season on loan. However, after the game the Arsenal manager seemed to rule that out, replying when asked if that was his plan, 'No. I sent him out on loan last year because I thought he needed that.
