Gareth Southgate announced his first England squad at the weekend and, naturally, it generated a lot of discussion. The former England, Middlesbrough and Aston Villa defender included Glen Johnson in the list of call-ups which generated a pretty negative reaction, something he would have wanted to avoid after what has gone on in the last week concerning the Three Lions.
