Arsene Wenger: 'European competition will replace domestic games on weekends'

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has claimed that European competition will go on to replace the Premier League on weekends. The Champions League final has taken place on a Saturday since 2010, but on the whole, European football has been limited to weekdays. Wenger, who will step down from his 22-year Gunners tenure at the end of the season, believes that the Champions League and Europa League will encroach more on domestic leagues in the coming years.
