Switzerland's Granit Xhaka injures knee in training for World Cup

Switzerland head into their 11th World Cup and La Nati will go as far as Xherdan Shaqiri can take them. Switzerland midfielder Granit Xhaka has suffered a World Cup injury scare after he hurt his knee during a training session on Thursday. The Arsenal man sustained an injury to his left knee in a challenge while training in heavy rain with his international teammates in Lugano, the Swiss Football Federation said. He was not taken to hospital, but was assessed and treated by the team doctors and will undergo an MRI scan as soon as possible.
