Sampdoria have told Arsenal they will have to cough up Lucas Torreira’s £22million release clause in full if they want to sign him. The midfielder has been linked with a move to the Gunners this summer, while Borussia Dortmund have shown an interest too. Sampdoria are resigned to losing the 22-year-old, who is expected to star for Uruguay at the World Cup this summer. However the Italian club’s sporting director, Carlo Osti, has confirmed Torreira will not be sold for less than his release clause. “Torreira has a 25million (£22m) release clause, everyone knows that,” Osti told Rai Sport. “Anyone who wants him will have to pay that.”
