Granit Xhaka 'relieved' as knee injury suffered in Switzerland training won't keep him from World Cup

Granit Xhaka suffered a knee injury in Switzerland training on Thursday evening, but has clarified his World Cup place is not in doubt. Reports from Swiss outlet RTS state the Arsenal midfielder stayed down holding his left knee after being involved in a rough challenge. He could not resume training and limped out of the session, having to be aided with his walking by two members of staff. However, an MRI scan showed Xhaka just suffered bruising on his left knee. "I am very relieved," he said as he is set to be fit for his country's World Cup campaign, which begins on June 17 against Brazil.
